I went through a little bit of soul searching. He was mixing it remotely from here. And then it became, Wow, I can make a little money. But I had all sorts of different day jobs the whole time. In 1987, Leisz began working with Dave Alvin (formerly of The Blasters). I was usually to shy to go up and talk to anybody about it, but I just kind of absorbed the music. With his ability to add texture to the music, and unconventional sonic expressions to the music, his playing feels like putting the final piece into a puzzle.
